The authors examine bridles, bronze maces, statues, bronze vessels and objects made of ivory that were manufactured in the Ancient Near East and found their way into Greece. Most of the items have been excavated in temples and graves and bear witness of the close contact of Near Eastern and Greek cultures especially during the first half of the first mill. B.C.E. Next to the items themselves, the circumstances of their production, transport and the context of their final usage are studied.
